Today, I chose to present the Japanese trailer of the film Spirited Away.
Spirited Away is a Japanese animated film directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The Japanese title of the film is 千と千尋の神隠し (Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi).
It tells the story of a 10-year-old girl named Chihiro, who is accidentally thrown into another dimension, a spirit world. While working at a bathhouse for spirits, she tries to rescue her parents after they are transformed into pigs.
I recently rewatched the movie during winter break, and it brought back many childhood memories, as it was one of my favorite films when I was younger.
Watching the trailer in Japanese was a very interesting experience. I enjoyed listening to the sounds, rhythm, and intonation of the language, and it made me want to watch the full movie again in Japanese.
The voices, music, and overall atmosphere felt very poetic and emotional, and the beauty of the images really stood out to me. It also made me curious to discover more Japanese films.
It’s been such a long time since I’ve seen Spirited Away! Just seeing the trailer you shared takes me back to such good, simpler times. There’s something so distinctive, lively, and fun about the animation style that I haven’t really seen anywhere else, and it feels so wholesome.
